Thank You, Readers! “Isolation” is #1!

It doesn’t feel like I say it often enough, but I just wanted to give a shout-out to my readers and say thanks for all your wonderful support.  I feel incredibly blessed that my writing has found an audience who like my work well enough to help me achieve a modicum of success, as expressed below:

Yes, Isolation achieved a #1 Best Seller ranking:

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #2,131 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)
#1 in Teen & Young Adult Alien Science Fiction
#2 in Teen & Young Adult Superhero Fiction
#1 in Teen & Young Adult Aliens eBooks

Frankly speaking, I’ve been a little gunshy about rankings since last year’s fiasco with Replication, with the book initially being put in completely inappropriate categories. Amazon eventually fixed the problem, but it was something of a headache to deal with.  (In all honesty, I still have issues with books being in the wrong categories – especially when it comes to audiobooks – but I’ve come to accept that I may never win that battle.)

Regardless, I will continue trying to keep my stories interesting and entertaining, and hopefully readers will continue to enjoy them.

On a related note, for the next 3 weeks – until May 27 – I’m running a “Become Immortal!” campaign on Patreon. In essence, anyone who signs up to support me on Patreon at the $10 tier or higher (or upgrades to it) during that time frame will have their name immortalized on a special patrons ‘Thank You’ page in the next Kid Sensation book. (Needless to say, anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can do so, and those patrons currently at the $10 tier or higher are already included in The Sodality of Immortals.)

Thanks again for all your support, and stay safe!

***Just to be clear, I don’t have an expectation of support on Patreon. In other words, it’s not something I expect readers to do simply because they like my work. It’s merely an option for those who wish to offer me additional support. Some of the greatest works of literature and art are the result of patronage. Shakespeare had patrons, as did Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and many, many others. I’m certainly not comparing myself to those individuals, but if they relied on patrons – despite their tremendous talents – I feel that I should at least be open to the concept.  Ergo, the Patreon page, but hopefully my readers understand that I appreciate you all without regard to the notion of patronage.

  1. You deserve this. You’re such an incredible author and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading the books on the Kid Sensations series over the years. Thanks for all the hardwork ??

    1. Thank you so much for the compliment. I’m blessed in that almost all the books in the series have been able to reach #1 in their respective categories (and those that didn’t at least reached #2), but it’s really a testament to the support I’ve gotten from readers. There’s a saying among authors that goes something like this:

Most people who want to write a book will never start. Most who start will never finish. Most who finish will never publish.

As the old adage indicates, writing a book really is an uphill battle, in a sense. It’s hard work, so just being able to finish a writing project often feels like a reward in itself. Having readers actually like it is practically euphoric, which is why every compliment like yours completely makes my day. Thank you so much for the kind words, and I hope my work continues to entertain.

  2. I Love the series man. It is an absolute Joy to read. Your writing engages and arrests the imagination. DO NOT STOP!! Blessing to you sir.

    1. Thank you so much! It always brightens my day when someone says they enjoy my writing.

  3. I absolutely love these books and think that vestibule has so much promise as Jim’s girlfriend. Would love to see that explored over Electra. I love these books and can’t wait for the next one!

    1. Thanks, I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the series. Hmmm…seems like there’s a “Camp Electra” and a “Camp Vestibule” forming (not to mention a “Camp Myshtal”). Needless to say, I like the fact that readers are involved enough in the series to care about Jim’s relationship status. That said, I do have an idea of where things will probably go for Jim romantically, but nothing’s set in stone.

      1. I approve of “Camp Vestibule” and “Camp Myshtal”, not so much about “Camp Electra”. I personally think that she has not grown up compared to Vestibule.

        1. LOL. You’re not the first person to express that sentiment towards Electra. Needless to say, relationships can be complicated, so we’ll have to see how it goes.
