Additional Update on Replication

Okay, I’ve gotten the proofed manuscript back from my editor. (Hooray!!!) I expect to review it this weekend and then get it to my formatting guy. He’s pretty good and can usually turn things around in a couple of days (although this book is longer than anything I’ve written before).

Long story short: if all goes well and there are no snags, I may be hitting the “publish” button in about a week.  Keep your fingers crossed…

  1. Any new update on time of release? I just finished my 5th readthrough of all the books in preparation of the release, and I’m having trouble waiting without knowing when I can read the next book.

BTW you have done a GREAT job so far. Thanks for all the good books.

    1. Thanks for the compliments, and I’m flattered that you’ve read the books 5 times. In terms of an update, I fired the manuscript off to my formatting guy, so I’m just waiting for it to come back.

      1. And you said in this post that it usually takes him a couple days. Add in another day maybe to account for the length of the book and hopefully well see a release this weekend. Or if we’re super lucky tomorrow maybe?

        1. You might have to tack on time in case he already had a project on his plate that he needed to finish first. (I did stress, however, that I’ve got an angry mob with torches and pitchforks on my tail, so a quick turn around would be preferable.)

On the other hand, the print version is all set to go. I’m just waiting for the Kindle version so I can release them together.

  2. Question : (and spoilernif you haven’t read book four, I guess) I noticed in 3 you make a comment about a lobotomy for paramount- did you already have the accident in #4 planned out in your head when you wrote that?

    1. Good question, but I didn’t really have that part fully fleshed out. I did have plans to reinsert Paramount into the storyline, but hadn’t quite finalized the how (although I knew that any change in his relationship with Jim would require a “reset” of sorts). Also, while this isn’t exactly an example, I do occasionally drop hints of the shape of things to come.

      1. I know there is one or two other places where I’ve gotten that “he’s dropping foreshadows” – probably helped by re-reading backwards.

    1. Probably not… I’m hoping in the next day or two. Then it’s a matter of how fast Amazon makes it available. Historically, they’ve been pretty fast.

  3. Just make sure to give us a link when it is available. Amazon dose a poor job of notifying readers when books are released which is why I follow the social media and forums of my favorite authors to get the proper heads up.
